VOLUNTEERS MUST SIGN UP FOR A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) SHIFTS OVER 4 DAYS AND THESE SHIFTS SHOULD ALL BE WITHIN THE SAME AREA.

Dear Festival Volunteer:

The 36th Annual Detroit Jazz Fest (September 4-September 7) takes over 2MIL square feet of downtown Detroit. With six stages of non-stop music, it remains the largest free jazz festival in the country. 

The spirit of community involvement has long contributed to the success of the Detroit Jazz Festival.  A festival of the magnitude of the Detroit Jazz Fest wouldn’t be possible without a dedicated corps of volunteers. Volunteers are an integral part of the festival, and their dedication and hard work is deeply appreciated.

Because it is such a fun and memorable experience, many of our volunteers return year after year. But we still need more.

If you love music, people, behind-the-scenes-craziness, the hustle and bustle of the entertainment business, and giving back to the community, DETROIT JAZZ FEST WANTS YOU!

We are looking for support in the areas of Transportation, Information, Invest-in-the-Fest, Stage Assistance and Program Sales. Be sure to throughly read the job descriptions, before you make your selection.  Volunteers receive a special tee shirt, a discount on DJF merchandise, an invitation to the annual volunteer party and an earful of great music.
